Wooden walking stick, topped by an ivory handle carved in the form of Hitler, may his name be obliterated, with his head in a hangman’s noose and his tongue protruding while he is still twitching in the noose.
A star of David is engraved in the handle, with Tarnow 1941 inscribed inside. It is hard to believe that the walking stick was made in Tarnow, Poland in 1941. Apparently it is more reasonable to assume that the stick was made by a Holocaust survivor, who chose to carve his city’s name of instead of the enemy’s name.
Total height 90 cm, wood and ivory, fine-very fine condition, wood peelings. The handle is in very fine condition.
