Meggilot Shir HaShirim, Ruth and Kohelet with Targum Yonatan Ben Uziel and Rash”i’s commentary. Beautiful professional script, vowelized, complete and perfect from beginning to end, including a title page and a colophon. [Yemen], year by chronogram: “כי ביו”ם הזה יכפר עליכם לטהר א’תכם מכל חטאתיכם לפני ה’ תטהרו”?
Especially beautiful Yemenite manuscript, vowelized and with cantillation marks, written professionally with perfect typography, appearing at first glance as if it came straight from the printing press!
The right side of the pages bear the meggilah text, and the Targum is on its left. Rash”i’s commentary is in the margins. The manuscript opens with an illustrated title page, and there are illustrations and decorations at the beginning of the meggilahs. The colophon appears at the end of the volume (after Shir HaShirim) reading: “The commentary on Kohelet is complete, with the help of the one who desires shora”sh [=שלים ולא שלימו רחמי שמייא], completed on Thursday, the twelfth of Tevet, in the year [by chronongram] כי ביו”ם הזה יכפר עליכם לטהר א’תכם מכל חטאתיכם לפני ה’ תטהרו. Anyone who finds an error should correct it, and judge me favorably, as it says, ‘Who can discern mistakes? Cleanse me from unperceived faults.'”
