From the rising of the sun to its setting – G-d’s name is praised Beautiful, impressive Mizrach board. Brass plate for hanging in a synagogue on the cantor’s lectern or on the eastern wall, with engravings and pictures made by etching and engraving. [Europe – Germany? Early 20th century.] The word Mizrach appears at the top of the board, and the word Yerushalayim is in the margins. A star of David is in the center, with the vowelized verse “From the rising of the sun to its setting – G-d’s name is praised” over it. The four corners of the board feature beautiful pictures of animals (an eagle and a gazelle) and of sacred sites in Jerusalem, with the captions “Rachel’s Tomb” and “The sacred city of Tziyon and the tombs of kings from the Davidic dynasty.” Beautiful geometric illustrations cover the entire area. 20×27 cm.
