Handwritten letter from the gaon Rabbi Raphael Aharon son of Shimon, ra’ava”d of Egypt, author of Nahar Mitzrayim and Tuv Mitzrayim , to Rabbi Raphael Even Tzur.
Rabbi Raphael Aharon Ben Shimon was very active in the preservation and commemoration of the writings of Moroccan rabbis, even founding the Dovev Siftei Yeshenim association expressly for this purpose, to collect writings of Moroccan rabbis and to print them. Known among these is Shu”t Mishpat U’Medakeh B’Ya’akov by Rabbi Ya’akov Even Tzur.
In his letter, Rabbi Raphael Aharon pleads with Rabbi Raphael to take care of his grandfather’s writings which are completely inaccessible.
The second part of the letter deals with financial issues, with a supplement handwritten and signed by Rabbi Shlomo Aflalo.
