Letter full of wonderful blessings for a good, sweet year,
signed by the Admo”r Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson of Lubavitch. Brooklyn, New York. Elul, 1985. The letter concludes with a huge blessing in the Rebbe’s penmanship.
“For the upcoming new year – may it be a blessed good year for us and the entire Jewish people – I hereby extend my blessing to [you] and all that is [yours], to be inscribed and sealed for the good; a good, sweet year, materially and spiritually.” Careful examination of the Rebbe’s words show that in these few words he includes all necessary blessings, whether in the material and spiritual realms, to the recipient and his entire family – what could be better or sweeter than “a good, sweet year, materially and spiritually”?
The jewel in the crown of this most important letter of blessings is the word the Rebbe added in his own hand. Near his signature, the Rebbe added the word l’hatzlachah , which, as known, is considered in Chassidic doctrine to include all blessings, as it is stated by Yosef HaTzaddik “And the man was successful [איש מצליח] … everything he did, Hashem caused to be successful.”
