Booklet of [10] postage stamps of synagogues in Berlin which were destroyed during Kristallnacht in 1939.
The night between the 9th and 10th of November 1938 is infamously known as Kristallnacht. During that night pogroms against the Jews took place throughout the streets of the Third Reich (Germany and Austria) causing damage to property and riots against the Jews. The moniker derives from the broken glass of the shattered windows of synagogues, Jewish communal institutions and businesses belonging to Jewish residents of Germany.
