Rare letter loaded with rare blessings for success and special miraculous supervision, beyond all natural boundaries. On the words “Heavenly supervision” [“השגחה העליונה”], the Rebbe added the ה” הידיעה in his own hand! Sent in advance of the Rayya”tz’s yahrtzeit, on 7 Shevat, [Rabbi David of Lelov’s yahrtzeit] 1959. Several revisions handwritten by the Rebbe, and with his signature. The content of the letter reveals that the addressee was a Chaba”d emissary/activist named Rabbi Menachem Shai. The Rebbe goes out of his way with many blessings and promises, all explicitly with the intent of success beyond the limits of nature, without boundaries or constraints, with his institutions and on the personal level. Below are some of the Rebbe’s rare and tremendous explicit blessings: “May Heavenly supervision grant you privilege and success and a respectable position … and this will certainly be increased with the awakening influence of the person whose yahrtzeit it is; this will increase Hashem’s blessings for all that [you] need … I shall surely bless you … with a permanent blessing …” The rebbe repeats his blessing and concludes with boundless blessings: “May it be His will that there be great success, from the root of “And you shall burst forth, westward, eastward, northward and southward – towards a boundless legacy. With blessings for glad tidings in all that we have stated, M. Schneerson.” The blessings show that the Rebbe maintained that the addressee’s success was of utmost importance. Tzaddikim over the generations, as well as Chassidim and other people who were able, would hold something in their hands that had belonged to a tzaddik, as a segulah for their prayers to be answered. This is a well-known and ancient matter. It is so important and calming to hold an expert amulet in one’s hands during the high holidays, loaded with such blessings and signed by a tzaddik of the generations! Refer to the Hebrew catalog text for a brief biography of the Admo”r Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson . The Rebbe was already known as a supernatural wonder-worker in his lifetime, and he enacted miracles like the ancients. This is common among true leaders of the Jewish people, in all generations and across all circles. The innovation for Lubavitcher Rebbe was that even after he passed away, – so say Chaba”d Chassidim – his printed letters, and all the more so his manuscripts, still enact miracles no less – and possibly even more – than during his lifetime, as our Sages said (Chulin 7b): “Tzaddikim are greater after their deaths than during their lifetimes.” [1] aerogramme, 30X18 cm. The Rebbe’s official stationery, typewritten, with the addition of two comments handwritten by the Rebbe, and signed by him in pen in blue ink. Fine condition. Filing perforations.
