Bronze plaque marking the inauguration of the new building for the Jeshurun synagogue in Frankfurt. Manufacturer: Karl Goetz. [Frankfurt, 1907] Relief of the synagogue building through a beautiful gate. The sun appears behind the synagogue, and over it is the [Hebrew] inscription “Beit Tefillat Yeshurun, ” and at the top of the plaque, the German inscription, “Neue Synagoge der Jsr.[aelitichen] Religionsges.[ellschaft] zu Frankfurt A[m] M[ain]” [New synagogue of the Jewish Community in Frankfurt am Main]. Inscription in Hebrew and German on the bottom: “Eingeweiht/inaugurated am 29 Elul/29 August 1907. Broaden the place of your tent, Congregation Adath Jeshurun.” The manufacturer’s stamp appears at the edge of the plaque. 49×61 cm. Very fine condition.
