Charity box. Hungary. 19th century. Thick, natural-colored metal. Rounded front panel. Flat back. 11 cm. tall. 9.5 diameter at its width. At the top – cover attached with a hinge to the back of the box with a slot for inserting coins. Hanging ring on the back.
Large metal plate welded to the box, engraved with the Hungarian words ‘Ahavasz Reim’.
The Hebrew words מתן בסתר [Matan B’Seter] are written underneath the plaque in large letters.
