Practical halachic novellae handwritten by Rabbi Avraham Yeshayahu Karelitz, author of Chazon Ish.
Halachic ruling on two topics related to caring for animals on Shabbat.
These rulings were printed in the book Chazon Ish, Hilchot Shabbat.
Rabbi Avraham Yeshayahu Karelitz [1879-1953], known by the name of his book as the author of Chazon Ish, was a gaon and a tzaddik, expert in all realms of Torah, an example of ‘toil in Torah’ for generations. He was one of the leaders of Chareidi Jewry in the Land of Israel, one of those who drafted its path in the period after the establishment of the State. He reestablished the Torah world after the Holocaust, and revived the practical fulfillment of Land-of-Israel-dependant mitzvahs. As is known, Chareidi settlers and agricultural workers were close to his heart and he guided them in all that was related to Land-of-Israel-dependant mitzvahs and the halachahs related to livestock.
