Background: Rabbi Aharon Walkin was a student in the Volozhin Yeshiva, and of Rabbi Yitzchak Elchonon Spektor of Kovno. He was appointed as rabbi of Gargždai, Lithuania, at a young age, at Rabbi Yitzchak Elchonon’s request, and later served as rabbi of several communities, and was a famous rosh yeshiva and darshan. He was rabbi of Pinsk, where he was imprisoned by the Communists for half a year. Among the oldest rabbis murdered in the Holocaust.
