* Hakdamah V’Derech L’Etz HaChayim , also entitled Sur MeRa V’Aseh Tov , dealing with Kabbalistic matters. Authored by the Rebbe Rabbi Tzvi Hirsch of Zhidichov, with glosses and supplements by Rabbi Tzvi Elimelech of Dinov. [Lvov], 1850. First edition of the glosses by Rabbi Tzvi Elimelech of Dinov.
Rabbi Tzvi Elimelech of Dinov admired the author, and wrote about him, “I have almost never seen nor heard of anyone like him in our generation who delves into wondrous wisdom like he does. From my earliest youth, I would desire this wisdom …”
There are copies that explicitly note the place and year of print. These copies also have the list of authors on the title page and indicate the cities where they served (all omitted in this copy): “Tzvi Hirsch Zhidichover” and “Tzvi Elimelech ztzuk”l, av beit din of Dinov.” Apparently there were copies distributed in areas where they were not concerned the authors would be harassed, and others where they did have this concern, in which they left out the printing details and the cities the rabbis served.
