Colorful ‘Mizrach’ board – the top is inscribed with “Jerusalem” in both Hebrew and English, and the word “Mizrach.” There is a map of the Land of Israel as it appeared in 1937 at center, including division by color according to tribal inheritances. The names on the map are a mix of Yiddish and Hebrew. There are pictures of the Western Wall, Jaffa, Haifa, Safed, Tiberias, King David’s tomb and the Tomb of the Partriarchs surrounding the map, and “Di Yiddishe Colonien” (“The Jewish Colonies”) listed at its sides. The bottom of the map has a place for a memorial board that can be filled in with the names of deceased parents, and the words “Map of Palestine.”
Very rare.
43×57 cm.
Fine-very fine condition, tiny tears in the top.
