Paper scrap with a halachic ruling regarding community issues, handwritten and signed by the community rabbi, the gaon Rabbi “Moshe son of Rabbi Elchanan … Furth, presently in Steinitz.” The date is Thursday, Rosh Chodesh MarCheshvan [תבנ ה ה בי ת ]. (It is unclear as to whether the letters are marked, however, it appears to be referring to 1650, because around that time, Rosh Chodesh only fell out on Thursday in 1650, 1653, 1657) after which he had already passed away.)
After Rabbi Moshe served the Steinitz community, Rabbi Yeshayah Horowitz was appointed there – a grandson of the Shla”h HaKadosh. Refer to the book Toldot Mishpachat Horowitz p. 28.
