Ledger from the large Jewish community of Quba (Kuba), Azerbaijan. With details of hundreds of births, circumcisions, weddings, divorces, and deaths between 1888 and 1909. The ledger was apparently written by two people: the first section by Rabbi Shalom Mizarchi whose stamp appears on leaf 7b, and the second section by Rabbi Yitzchak Mizarchi whose stamp appears on leaf 1a. Leaf 34a bears an owner stamp. This rare ledger is a significant resource for the study of the history of the city’s large Jewish community.
