Beit-Dipun Pa’am – rare publication by “HaYeled HaIvri HaRishon” – Itamar ben Av”i, son of Eliezer Ben Yehudah, reviver and renewer of the Hebrew language. Netanya, 1939.
In the first article, Itamar writes about the failure of the establishment of the dipun Alef in Jerusalem, and expresses his hope that in Netanya he will be able to succeed where he previously failed.
Later on in the sheet is a rare article about his experiences as “The first Hebrew child” and his refusal to write them.
Like his father, Itamar invented many Hebrew words, some of which became an integral part of the daily vernacular, such as עיתונות, ביטאון, מרפאה and others. In this rare issue, there are many words that are unfamiliar, yet bring a smile to the faces of readers for their sharpness and wit.
