Divrei Emet is a large compilation of prayers for the ill and their visitors, prayers upon death and prayers to be recited at cemeteries. Reprinted in Prague, 1705, with many different supplements. The approbation by the Noda BiYehudah and his beit din from 1889 appears on the back of the title page. The laws and customs were printed in Yiddish, in Tze’enah U’Re’enah letters.
The title page bears a signature of “the mighty gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Grosshaber of Krakow … Paks … This is none other than the mighty gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Grosshaber, one of the prominent disciples of Rabbi Yechezkel Landau, author of Noda BiYehudah , av beit din of Paks. Before the title page, there are three pages full of various compilations penned by him – various prayers and customs regarding death and burial. He mentions a passage from the Teshuvah M’Ahavah responsa by Rabbi Elazar Fleckeles, also one of the Noda BiYehudah’s prominent disciples.
After his passing, the book was left to his son, the gaon Rabbi Moshe Grosshaber-Freund, who signed his name on the title page “The youth Moshe, son of Itzik; this is my portion in the inheritance.” After his passing, his library was contributed to the yeshivah in Bonyhád. There are several signatures on the flyleaf by the philanthropist R’ Avraham Katz Kahn – “I bought it for a shekel, a local student’s notebook from 1874, Honyhád.
