Background: The document of appointment before us from Kollel Ungarin in Safed was presented to Rabbi David A”sh [=Eisenstadt], Av Beit Din of the city of Szobranc to succeed his father, Rabbi Menachem Eisenstadt [the son of the Maharam Ash], as treasurer and responsible for collecting donations from Hungary for the aforementioned Kollel. The document of appointment was signed on January 3, 1870 by the Kollel’s Rabbis and supporters, including the small one Pinchas Horowitz, the small one Yaakov son of Rabbi Mordechai HaLevi, the small one Chanoch Zundel].
Condition: Fine. Slight tears and reinforcements. Minimal aging stains. New binding.
