Even HaEzel, third section, novella and explanations on the Mishna Torah of the Rambam, Sefer Kinyan, by Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer. Jerusalem [1938]. On the leaf before the title page is a dedication by the author to his friend Rabbi Eliyahu Wolkovsky, author of the sefer ‘Torat HaKodshim’ among others. Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer [1870-1953] the elder of the roshei yeshivah in his generation and one of the leaders of orthodox Jewry in Eretz Yisrael, was born in Mir, and in his youth learned in Volozhin. He was known as exceptional genius, and was a close and dear student of Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik. He served as the Rosh Mesivta in Slobodka, the Av Beit Din and Rosh Mesivta in Slutsk, and from the time that he made Aliyah to Eretz Yisrael, served as the Rosh Yeshivah of Eitz Chaim. His novella became a part of his series of Even HaEzel (about the sefer and his manner of learning see ‘Ishim V’Shitot’ p. 340 ff). Original binding, fallen apart. Very good condition aside from the binding.
