The letter was sent during the historic visit of the Agudat Yisrael delegation to America, which was initiated by Rabbi Chaim Ozer, with the goal of re-establishing Agudat Yisrael in America and Canada. The delegation was led by the older brother of the Chazon Ish, Rabbi Meir Karelitz, who served as the rabbi of the Poalei Agudat Yisrael movement in Israel and was Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinski’s right-hand man. In this letter, Rabbi Meir Karelitz invites one of the important rabbis in America to take part in a meeting of rabbis during the delegation’s visit.
