Four important letters from rabbinic leaders.
* Halachic decision about a lawsuit brought by Rabbi Yitzchak Arielli, one of the founders of the Mercaz HaRav yeshiva, against the administration of the yeshiva claiming a full monthly salary and return of various rights which were taken from him. The Bada”tz beit din decided that his rights should be returned as one of the head founders of the yeshiva. The signatures of the rabbis, the gaons: Rabbi Tzvi Pesach Frank, Rabbi Yosef Gershon Horowitz and Rabbi Eliyahu son of Rabbi Shlomo Re’em’s signatures appear in the margins.
* Emotional letter handwritten and signed by the Jerusalem Maggid, Rabbi Ben Tziyon Yadler, Jerusalem, 9 Iyar 1962. In the letter, Rabbi Yadler turns to Rabbi Yisrael Porat with a request for financial assistance due to his harsh situation. ‘His Torah honor, remnant of the old generation, who knows and has seen all my deeds in which I dedicated myself, body and soul, to the public, and there is almost no one who knows of my toil aside from his honor, of which King Solomon says: One person among a thousand have I found, this is Torah and this is its reward, for a number of years I have lain on my deathbed, and recently my wife, too, has become ill, Heaven have mercy, and I need household help.’ Letter on a postcard 15×10 cm.
