Sefer HaChinuch is a treatise that systematically discusses the 613 commandments. It was written in Barcelona, Spain, in a clear Hebrew – apparently in the 13th-14th century. Both its author and the year it was written have not been definitively ascertained. The anonymous author alluded that he was from the tribe of Levi and lived in Barcelona. Researchers believe that the book was written in the middle of the 13th century.
