Before us are important items from the chief rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaKohen Kook.
* Typewritten letter on Rabbi Kook’s official stationery, in his hand and with his signature and stamp. The letter is addressed to the rabbi of the Chareidi city Bnei Brak (!) and to the Va’ad HaYishuv. It deals with a recommendation for a ritual slaughterer for the city. Poor-moderate condition. Tears with lack.
* A large calling card is attached to the letter, with the addition of blessings in Rabbi Kook’s hand. An interesting description of Rabbi Kook is printed on the calling card: “Honorary Commander of the Civil Department of the Grand Order of the British Kingdom” (something of an honorary British title granted to him by the kingdom.) Fine condition.
* Sharp letter from the gaon Rabbi Hillel Fosk of Tatravoner, on official stationery, entirely in his hand and with his signature. The letter is dated 15 Sivan 1932, and is addressed to the editorial board of of the HaHed journal. In his letter, Rabbi Hillel sharply protests the villains who insulted Rabbi Kook, and he demands they be punished to the fullest extent of the law. Very fine condition.
* Printed letter to the Diaspora about support for Kupat Rabi Meir Ba’al HaNes. Stamped with Rabbi Kook’s ink stamp. Hebrew and Yiddish. Fine condition.
* L’Reishit HaShanah booklet – sermons by Rabbi David Shlomo Slatsh of Odessa. Jerusalem, 1910. Rabbi Kook’s early owner’s stamp from his tenure as rabbi of Jaffa. 16 leaves. Moderate-fine condition. Jacket cover.
