Only leaves 1-101, no title page
The leaves of the book bear about fifteen lengthy glosses with much content, in the hand of Gaon Rabbi Moshe Fardo. Four of them are initialed המפ”ה (refer to leaves 58b, 59a, 66b, 72a). Rabbi Moshe Fardo was a descendant of Rabbi Dovid Fardo the author of “Chasdei Dovid” and “HaChida”. He was born in Jerusalem in 1801 and learned in Yeshivat Chessed L’Avraham together with the Yisa Beracha and other Jerusalem sages. He served as dayan in the beit din of the author of the “Kapei Aharon” and was then appointed rav”d n the Sephardic community of Jerusalem. In [1870], he left on a fundraising mission and on his return via Alexandria, the community members asked him to take over the rabbinate following the death of Rabbi Nosson Amram. He served in this position for seventeen years, through 1888.
His printed works include: Shemo Moshe, Izmir 1874; Tzedek U’Mishpat, Izmir; 1874; Hora’a D’Beit Din (Imzir, 1872). He signed his responsa and comments with his initials – as he signed here.
