‘ HaIlan HaKadosh ‘ amulet written by an artistic scribe in tiny, precise script, stunning and clear, in high-quality, strong ink, whose beauty has not faded at all over the years. The amulet is especially narrow and long, almost a full meter. Oriental script. [Late 19th century.]
The great precision in the sacred Names and the Kabbalistic forms demonstrate that this amulet was written by a first-rate Kabbalist who was a tremendous expert in the field. Unfortunately, we do not know who he is. Noted at the top of the amulet: “B’Hormnuta D’ Malka” and in the margins of the amulet: “This ilan hakadosh is for grace and success and viable offspring and for a complete recovery and protection from plagues and evil spirits and demons and the evil eye. It is to be placed in a case and worn.”
The amulet includes Kabbalistic illustrations, names of angels, the order of the sephirot and the progression of the olamot and more. It in fact includes all the foundations of Kabbalistic wisdom, according to the precise instructions by the G-dly Kabbalist Rabbi Meir Papirosh – a disciple of the Ar”i z”l’s.
The Ilan HaKodesh is one of the common amulets renowned for their segulah. They are occasionally offered at auction. However, it is rare to find one so clear and precise, made according to all the hiddurim with all the fine Kabbalistic details necessary, all in miniature so that it can be constantly worn.
