Important and lengthy Halachic Responsum, entirely handwritten and signed by Rabbi Eliezer David Greenwald of Satmar, author of Keren L’David . Banya (Hungary), 1925. Letters from him are rare.
The letter is addressed to the gaon Rabbi Yosef Adler, Av Beit Din of Turda (while serving as rabbi of Schäßburg) and deals with one of the questions that has been the subject of halachic controversy among halachic arbitrators over the years – whether fruit compote requires a blessing if it is eaten with a meal. The ‘Keren David’ cites, inter alia, an event regarding his brother, the author of Arugat HaBosem .
