Rabbi Eliyahu Akiva Rabinowitz (1860-1920) was the son of rabbi Dover, Head of the Beit Din of Piatnica and his mother was the sister of the Adere”t. He was the son-in-law of the sister of the Mahara”l of Diskin. He inherited the position of his father and later served in Knishin and in Poltava, ther he established and edited the journal “HaPeles.” In the beginning he supported Zionism, but later changed to be a virulent opponent of it. He was a founder of Agudat Israel and established and edited the weekly newspaper “HaModia” that was published from 1910-1915. In it were many items and letters from great rabbis in Israel such as the Chafetz Chayim, and Rabbi Chayim of Brisk. He died in 1920.
