Rabbi Shem Tov Gaguin was born in Jerusalem in 1885. He served as dayan in Cairo. He later moved to England where he served as the rabbi of the Sephardic community in Manchester; dayan and rabbi in the Portuguese community of London; rosh yeshiva of Yeshivat Ohel Moshe V’Yehudit; and rosh yeshiva of Etz Chaim. He was renowned for his monumental work Keter Shem Tov regarding prayer customs and texts for all Jewish communities. He passed away in 1953. Refer to Arzei HaLevanon; Otzar Harabanim 18912.
