Rare letter handwritten and signed by the sacred Admo”r Rabbi Yosef Kalish of Amshinov.
The letter was sent to the Agudath Israel movement, called Shlomei Emunei Yisrael in Poland due to restrictions in Polish law. The Admo”r writes, “I have received the copy of the kol koreh . Include my signature on it as well, to spread the word among the Jewish people. May Hashem grant that the banner of Torah be raised soon, and the sanctity of His Blessed Name be evident to all.” He concludes: “I hereby sign with a blessing to be inscribed and sealed for a good year, a year of redemption, salvation, mercy … Yosef son of the tzaddik, ztz”l, av beit din of Amshinov, suburb of Warsaw.”
The Admo”r supported the Agudath Israel movement, signed on their various kol koreh s that came out from time to time and called on his followers to support the movement’s representative in the Polish Sejm, and gave a speech at Agudath Israel’s world conference in 1929.
