Abrahe Auenaris Judei Astrologi Peritissimi In Re Iudicali Opera. Rare. Ten compositions by Rabbi Avraham ibn Ezra dealing with astrology and astronomy from a Jewish perspective. Translated into Latin by Petro de Albano and published by Petri Liechtenstein. An additional Latin passage about the new moon was added at the end of the translation of Sefer HaTa’amim, [Liber Rationum], on leaf 43b-44a, written in a style similar to that of the ibn Ezra as well as two additional passages about astrology sourced from an unknown Jewish composition. A composition entitled Tractatus Particulares was added from leaf LXXXV onward, containing various compositions or passages about astrology which are attributed to the ibn Ezra but are unfamiliar from any Hebrew source. It is hard to say that this composition is a translation of an unknown composition by ibn Ezra, but it is clearly based on his writings. XCVI leaves, 20 cm, Gothic letters. The beginnings of the passages are made of woodcuts. An article by Renate Smithuis about this book is enclosed. Very fine condition, minimal aging stains. Ancient half-leather binding.
