Rare collection comprised of [47] rare and important paper items from one of the most ancient, important and aristocratic exiles of the Jewish people – the Persian exile [Iran]. Most of the items are written in Persian, in Hebrew letters, with a few in Hebrew. [5] are written in the Persian language using Arabic letters.
The collection includes:
* [5] handwritten letters from Rabbi Uriel: [2] letters from 1947 sent to the manager of the HeChalutz HaMercazi branch in Teheran; [1] letter in Hebrew from 1959 sent to the Aliyah administrator of Persia. It discusses a promise to serve in the rabbinate in the Land of Israel; [1] responsum letter handwritten and signed by him; [1] announcement handwritten and signed by him about a general fast due to the security situation, 21 Iyyar 1967.
* Letter from an unknown signatory, sent to the Torah V’Avodah administration in Teheran. 1952.
* Letter with an inquiry to Rabbi Uriel, from an unidentified writer. [1962.]
* Greetings letter to Rabbi Uriel, from an unidentified writer. 1937.
* Handwritten poem with a passage in honor of the Iranian people [“אדוני ונשיא דכתר לקמאן / עטרת ראשנו… נהוראי אהרן / בעיר מושבם העיר טהראן / תשלח בשורות לערי איראן”.].
* “Open” amulet – without a specific name filled in, for use against harsh illness and disease.
* [4] gittin , three from Golpayegan in 1925, and two (identical in content) from 1955. Another get from Kashan, in 1919. Tears in the contracts as a sign that they were properly given to the woman.
* [4] leaves from the work Ollelot Shmuel by Rabbi Shmuel b”r Shlomo Cohen, including the title page.
* Dozens of leaves and partial leaves with Torah insights, amulets and more.
