Official journal of a member of one of the first groups of the Batyah youth movement in the Land of Israel, with extensive detail of the various activities.
The group’s counselor was Ayalah Rothenberg, who called the group “Bnot Tziyon” after her deceased brother. The secretary was E. Weinberg; the leader, Brachah Rosenberg; and the treasurer, Minnah Raiz. The notebook describes the activities from Shevat, 1939 through Adar, 1941, approximately. The notebook includes a description of all the activities, from the technical aspect (date, number of participants, etc.) and the content aspect (summary of the story the counsellor told, etc.), including a somewhat extensive preoccupation with the Holocaust of the European Jews that began those years.
Notebook of immense value to scholars and those interested in the history of the beginnings of Chareidi education for girls in the Land of Israel.
Approximately 134 pp, 19 cm. Affixed with photographs of the group’s girls.
Very fine condition; some photographs are lacking.
