In 1717 he published an abbreviated version of Jewish Ceremonies without etchings. One of his declared goals was to convince Jews to apostatize. After the book’s publication, Hebraic scholar Sebastian Jacob Jugendres, the book’s editor, joined together with him and corrected many parts, also softened Kirchner’s agitated language. The etchings were also added, and the book was published in a revised version in 1724. The etchings for the book were prepared by Johann Georg Puschner.
