The newspaper was published by journalist Édouard Drumont (1844-1917), founder of the Antisemitic League of France, and it was the first French newspaper that published the news of Alfred Dreyfus’ arrest.
The front pages of most issues display antisemitic caricatures or drawings, large color printed pictures. Additional antisemitic illustrations and caricatures along the leaves of the issues.
