Large and impressive soup tureen made by Elijah Jones, Villa Pottery, Cobridge, Staffordshire, 1830s.
Each part is stamped “Granite Ware, Palestine, E.J.” with the E. J. apparently referring to the initials of Elijah Jones.
The top bears views of Tiberias and the Sea of Galilee, the body of the tureen is decorated with views of Jerusalem, and the tray bears a print of Nazereth.
26 cm height, 35 cm width, 29 cm depth.
Overall fine-very fine condition. Tiny cracks in the glaze.
