Letter from Rabbi Alter b”r Moshe Gutman of Brisk sent to Rabbi Simcha Vinograd and Rabbi Shlomo Menachem Weintraub. Lengthy, 4 paged letter from [1934], with interesting information regarding an international fundraising campaign for institutions in Eretz Yisrael. Rabbi Moshe Gutman was invited by Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik to move to Brisk and administer the committee overseeing Yeshivat Torat Chaim in Jerusalem, whose administration was in Brisk. He oversaw about twenty fundraisers who were active throughout Russia and Poland (Refer to Brisk D’Lita, p. 316). After his death in Tamuz 1933, his son, Rabbi Alter, took over his father’s position. This interesting letter includes Rabbi Alter’s memories about his father’s dedication for the Torah Chaim Yeshiva.
