In this letter, to the young man Zelig Groneman, Rabbi Guttmacher praises the young man and blesses him with much success. The young man, later Rabbi Yitzchak Zelig Groneman, served as the rabbi of Hanover and wrote the book
Nachalat Avot (Frankfurt am Main, 1898) and others.
Rabbi Eliyahu Guttmacher of Greiditz (1796-1874), a student of Rabbi Akiva Eiger in Posen, served as the rabbi of Pleszew and later of Greiditz. He dealt in kabala, and thousands came to receive his blessings. He was active in helping the settlement in Israel. He left after him many books on all of the sections of the Torah, some of them already printed.
