Typewritten letter on aerogram preprinted with the Admo”r’s name and address, and [2] lines handwritten by the Admo”r Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson of Lubavitch, and with his signature. Brooklyn, 1976. The letter is addressed to the rabbi’s only cousin, Zelda Schneurson-Mishkovsky (known as “the Poetess Zelda” [‘המשוררת זלדה’]). She was an esteemed and famous poetess whose poems are studied in schools and universities. She received many literary prizes for her poetry. The rabbi showers blessings on her, some in his very own handwriting: “One who changes his place changes his mazal (fate) for good and blessing materially and spiritually, with a blessing for length of days and good years, with joy and all goodness. Their names will be said at an auspicious time at the holy grave site (of my father-in-law).” The Admo”r Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson [1902-1994] was seventh in the dynasty of Admo”rs of Lubavitch. He started serving as Admo”r in 1951 and continued until his passing. He was one of the most prominent Admo”rs in recent generations, a great genius in all realms of the Torah. His net was cast – and still is – across the entire world. [1] leaf, 27×18 cm, blue paper. Fine condition. Tear at the top of the letter from opening the aerogram.
