Handwritten and (twice) signed letter from Rabbi Ya’akov Simchah Bunim Danziger of Alexander. The letter was sent from Poland to Alexander Chassidim in the Land of Israel and it deals with preparations for his grandchild’s wedding. Alexander, 1911.
The Rebbe blesses profusely: “May you be blessed with all good … that the celebration be complete …” The letter itself does not indicate which of his descendants is the subject of discussion, but he is known to have been an in-law of the Shem MiShmuel of Sochachov, and this may be the wedding mentioned here.
Rabbi Ya’akov Simchah Bunim Danziger of Alexander [d. Chanukah 1941] was a son of the Admo”r Rabbi Shmuel Tzvi, author of Tiferet Shmuel , of Alexander, and brother of the author of Akeidat Yitzchak . He signed together with his brother on the letter that was printed at the beginning of the book Shem MiShmuel , Part II, by his father, the Admo”r. There is a saying known among Alexander Chassidim from the Tiferet Shmuel regarding his three sons: Rabbi Yitzchak Menachem Mendel Danziger , Rabbi Ya’akov Simchah Bunim , and Rabbi Avraham Chaim: “I have three sons: Avraham, Yitzchak and Ya’akov, and each one is his own authority.” That is to say, each one is suited for leadership. Rabbi Ya’akov Simchah Bunim and his brothers and their families were killed in the Holocaust.
