Handwritten and signed letter from the Admor Rabbi Baruch Hager of Seret-Vizhnitz. 22 Shevat 1952.
The letter is addressed to the PA”I organization on the topic of the misuderstanding that occurred in the wake of an earlier letter he had written to Rabbi Menachem Porush. Following the affair, the Admor invited the three PA”I representatives to his home in order to clarify matters. He concludes ‘And He who makes peace in the heavens will make peace upon us …”
The Admor Rabbi Barch Hager [1895-1963] the Mekor Baruch, was the son of the author of Ahavat Yisrael , the first Admor of the Seret-Vizhnitz chassidut. He was ordained by Rabbi Meir Arik, and in 1923 he was appointed rabbi in Polien [Maramures region] and rabbi of Kozman in 1928. Beginning in 1936, he served as a rabbi in Seret, and served as the last rabbi in the town of Bukovina before its residents were expelled to Ukraine during the Holocaust. After the Holocaust, he immigrated to the Land of Israel in 1947 and established a neighborhood for his chassidim in Haifa. He was a member of Agudat Yisrael’s Council of Torah Sages.
