The rebbe blesses: “Children, life and sustenance …”
Typewritten letter on official stationery with the addition of [6] lines handwritten by the Admo”r Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson of Lubavitch, signed by him.
The letter is dated Rosh Chodesh Sivan 1962. It is addressed to his relative, Rabbi Yehudah Leib [Slonim]. The letter contains important lessons and even practical advice on matters of service of G-d and the progression of the Upper Influence to material and spiritual abundance. Among other things, the Rebbe writes that given that we are approaching the day the Torah is given, and, as is known, the world stands on three things: Torah, service of G-d and acts of lovingkindness, and according to Chassidic doctrine, a person is a “small world,” if a person is engaged in Torah, prayer, and acts of lovingkindness, in this way he will draw the three types of abundance towards him: children, life and sustenance.
The Rebbe blesses extensively: “May it be His will that each person acts and receives good tidings in all three foundations upon which the world stands: Torah, service of G-d and acts of lovingkindness, continuing and adding … children, life and sustenance, and as my father-in-law the Admo”r said, ‘Receiving the Torah with joy and internalization.” With blessings for the festival and for good tidings, in particular and in general.” There is a lengthy addition handwritten by the Rebbe, “[With respect to what] he wrote about the car and about the assembly – it is understood that am not to get involved. They should decide on a site. May we share good news, in particular and in general, M. Schneerson.” In the margins of the letter, the Rebbe again raises his hand with his renowned genius and expertise by bringing sources from all parts of the Torah, revealed and hidden, for the ideas and lessons appearing in this letter.
