* A letter sent to the Chazon Ish from the students of the “Beit Yosef-Novardok” Yeshivah in Bnei Brak. [1935].
[1] leaf, 25×20 cm. In the letter they request from the Chazon Ish to intervene to improve the yeshivah students’ financial condition. The students describe their difficult physical state which impacts their mental state. The Beit Yosef-Novardok Yeshivah was established by Rabbi Matityahu Zev Tshigal, who brought Rabbi Yaakov Yisrael Kanievsky, the Chazon Ish’s brother-in-law, to stand at its head. The Chazon Ish was very involved with the yeshivah, and for this reason the students approached him. Among those who signed the letter are those who later became known rabbis.
