The title page and the first leaves bear the stamp of Rabbi Shalom Gutman, Rabbi of Jassy. Rabbi Shalom Gutman [1867-1929] was the Chief Rabbi of Jassy, Romania for thirty five years. He was a scion of Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchov and wrote his history in his “Tiferet Beit HaLevi” [Jassy, 1910]. He published “Beit Yisrael al Hatorah” [Jassy, 1908] and more.
Magnificent, new leather binding. Minimal aging stains. The bottom corner of most leaves have been blemished – not affecting text. Some have been professionally restored. Fine condition.
