Sefer Ma’amar Kaddishin on Choshen Mishpat, by Rabbi Kim Kaddish ben Rabbi Kim Kaddish [!]. Prague, Moshe Katz Press. Only edition.
Important approbations from the Noda BiYehudah, Rabbi Yehonatan Eybeschütz and others.
Rare variant: In this copy, the author omits the list of books he studied from the title page, and in their place he added the famous apology at the bottom of the title page to the non-Jews “in whose midst we live.” The reason – apparently – was to appease the strict censor.
The printer’s apology leaf (leaf 2) was printed here twice, and in the second printing, the printer added to it and lengthened it, completing almost an entire page!
This copy bears both leaves of apology – the original and the revised!
[3], 1, 3-156 leaf. Approximately 35.5 cm.
Fine condition. Adhesions in the margins of the title page. Tears in the margins of the first leaves, without lack to the text. Old dampstains at the bottom of the leaves. Old binding, somewhat worn.
