Background: After the decree closing the well-known press in Slavuta belonging to the rabbis of the Shapira family, some of the presses were moved to a printer in Yozefov. They printed there in the same presses, as such, the printer wrote “in Slavuta” in large letters on the title page. The rabbis of the Shapira family moved the press to Zhitomir after a number of years, where a Machzor very similar to the one before us was printed in 1848.
Condition: Very fine. Minimal aging stains. Original leather binding with damage to the spine.
