Silver case for an etrog, with filigree decorations, etching and relief work of the sacred sites. Handmade by the artists of the Bezalel workshop. Jerusalem, c. 1950s-60s.
Inscription on the lid [Hebrew]: “Take for yourselves fruit of the citron tree, branches of date palms / twigs of a plaited tree and brook willows, ” “Jerusalem- Bezalel.”
The body of the case boasts four medallions embossed with: The Western Wall, Rachel’s Tomb, the Cave of the Patriarchs and David’s Citadel.
The box is entirely decorated with stunning filigree work.
The bottom of the box is stamped by the workshop and it sits on four pedestals.
