On leaf A, b at the end of the preface there is a page is pasted on with three handwritten lines that were omitted from the printing.
The author, one of the ga’onim of Prague, who was the greatest and most famous disciple of Rabbi Yechezkel Landau, the Av Beit Din of Prague and author of the Responsa Noda B’Yehuda, served for many years as a judge and Ra’avad in Prague, until his death in 1827. His book of response ‘Teshuvah M’Ahavah’ is a classic with a collection of hundreds of responsa on halachah, aggadah and Torah study.
He had many students, among them the ga’on Rabbi Yechezkel Paneth, the author of ‘Mareh Yechezkel’.
