After the affair of the child Yossel Schumacher, Ruth Ben David became engaged and soon married Rabbi Amram Blau who was then about seventy. His marriage to a convert, in her forties and a former Catholic, evoked virulent opposition among the members of Neturei Karta and the orthodox community. His disciples and sons saw this act as dishonor to his status. The rabbis of the orthodox community also opposed the marriage based on a halachic reason, since an old man should not marry a young woman.. In light of this, they put him under ban, despite sharp protests that “he does not listen to the opinion of the Badatz of the orthodox community under whose auspices they were married” in Elul 1965.
This is an extraordinary documentation of one of the most interesting events in the history of Chareidi Jewry in Jerusalem
