Kabalist Rabbi Massoud HaKohen Elchadad [1820-1927] was born in Morocco. In 1902 he travelled as a fundraiser to Tunis and Tripoli where he earned a reputation as a wonder worker. In 1903 he was appointed leader of the k”k Chassidim Beit-El and headed the yeshiva for over thirty years. He prayed from the prayer book of the Rashash according to the kavanot of the Arizal. He studied Kabala for over sixty years and was the most senior kabalist of his time. He passed away at the very old age of 107.
