Manuscript – Passover haggadah with colorful pictures and decorations. Hebrew and Judeo-Arabic, passage by passage. [Syria, late 19th century or early 20th century.]
The text of this haggadah is similar to the text of the Arabic translation that appears in haggadahs written or printed in Syria c. 1840.
Haggadahs are among the most used prayer books across the generations. They accompany a person while eating his festive Passover meal, and therefore wear out easily.
A handwritten haggadah preserved in such beautiful condition as this one is a rare find!
[72] written pages. 20 cm.
Fine condition. Typical usage marks and wine stains. Slight tears in the margins of some of the leaves, with professional paper completions. Minimal worming perforations. Old marbleized paper binding.
